I think they chose the point of view to be in third person because the author was trying to show that T.J, Nucci isn't the only important character in the book. I think that he did that because Tyrone, LouAnn (Ruth Ann), Sister Simone, etc. were all important to the plot of the story. T.J. was the main character but not the most important. I think that Tyrone or LouAnn were the most important characters because they were the characters that the author based the whole story off of. Obviously, T.J. was a very imprtant character in the story but when the author was writing the story I think that he was directing the story to revolve around Tyrones basketball career.
I also think that the author made the story in third person because he wanted to show how everybody in the books life was going and what effect they had on people and who effected them. An example of this is when LouAnn (Ruth Ann) was talking to him about other people in her life you could just imagine the flash backs in her head when she was explaining all of it in the book. Another thing is when T.J. is talking to school counselors about Tyrones grades and expectations in college. The author is very detailed when he talks about all these people and that brings me to my next reason.
Another reason i think that the book was in third person is so the author could better explain all the details in the book. An example is when T.J. was talking to the school counselor about Tyrones progress and college opportunities and the author points out a lot of details about the counselors apperance. At one point he even says, "I bet she was a babe when she was younger". When the author said that i think he might have got a little too detailed there, but it gave a good discription of her. Another example is when he's talking to Rita Esposito, one of the leaders in the school newspaper and somewhat of the school nerd. The author explained her whole body, personality, body language, and personality and she really wasn't a very important character in the book i think the author just wanted to explain what type of person she was so the reader could get a better idea of what she looks like. Over all I liked the authors choice of third person.

Choice Book Report 2 Part 1: Blue Star Rapture.
T.J. Nucci is a smart high school kid who lives just outside of Chicago. He is a really good friend to Tyrone who he mentors through his basketball career, not a physical basketball mentor but more of a mental mentor. He is an average basketball player but good enough to play varsity on his high school basketball team. He has a unique personality of being shy and cocky at the same time. An example of this is when he talks to the school counselor about Tyrones grades and his basketball future he was cocky about himself and tyrone but also shy about giving information.
In my mind I picture T.J. Nucci to be about six foot three inches and about 150 pounds. He isn't the most strong fast or athletic person but he isn't weak. I think he is a smart person too because the author always mentions how good he does in school compared to Tyrone. The author never really mentioned it but i think he got moved out of Chicago and into a suburb either because of his grades or because he lived in a dangerous neighborhood. When he moved to Chicago I think he took Tyrone with him. T.J. works two part time jobs: a paper boy, and a maintenace at Hardees.
T.J. is also a respectful person but in a different way. An exaple of this is when he met LouAnn at the foot bridge he was respectful by listenning to her and somewhat agreeing with her but he put his own opinion on it too. He didn't give in and believe everything she told him he stuck with his beliefs and and told her what he thought which i think is a good thing and something that shows a lot about him. When he met LouAnn he was also detailed about his thoughts towards her, he said things like she had a beautiful way of doing things. I didn't really get it but i think it was his way of saying she was graceful. T.J. is also sensative. He thought he caused LouAnn to commit suicide after he told her that all of her beliefs were political and wrong in his mind. He wasn't really forgiving of himself so he talked to Sister Simone about it. When he talked to Sister Simone he was very direct and strait forward about what he needed to tell her. He told her strait up that he thought that she had something to do with LouAnn's death by taking her off of her depression medecine and he didn't stop until she gave in or just ignored him. I think T.J. Nucci is a hard working good person.
